Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an infection in one or both of the lungs. It causes the air sacs of the lungs to fill up with fluid or pus. It can range from mild to severe, depending on the type of germ causing the infection, your age, and your overall health.

There are a few different types of Pneumonia and the providers at Make You Well can help to diagnose exactly what type of Pneumonia that you may be experiencing. Bacterial, Viral, and Fungal infections can all lead to pneumonia. Anyone can get pneumonia, but certain risk factors such as age, environmental exposure, lung disease, a weak immune system, and recent sickness can all play a major factor in a patient contracting pneumonia.

There are many symptoms ranging from mild to severe that can accompany pneumonia. These symptoms include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea, and diarrhea.

Pneumonia can cause many other problems including, bacteremia, a lung abscess, pleural disorders, kidney failure, and respiratory failure.
